Uranus Doll!!

It has been a while, but I have completed a new Galaxy Girl doll! Here is Uranus, and she has been by far the longest in production. I began her way back in August, and with everything else I have been doing for Galaxy Girls and Foster's, she kept getting put on the back burner-- but here she is!

Uranus' hair is grosgrain ribbon. Her pleated skirt took me a while to figure out, but I love it!! Plus, that plaid was hard to find-- thank God for Ebay. Check out her penny loafers-- I just made a super long buttonhole for the penny slit (though it is too small for an actual penny.) The beautiful hand-knitted vest is from my talented sister-in-law, Rose Mary of Crafty Mcgee! Thank you Rose! It turned out beautifully!!

Next up: The Moon!!

Over and out,
Mother Earth

I think she's my favorite doll so far

You did an outstanding job on her, I LOVE the hair for some reason, it just sticks out to me.

You make me want to take up plush making reallly baddly. Your one of the few people who handmake plush that make them look wonderfully close to the style of the art.

You should do a tutorial (course, I know you most likely won't have the time, but I can hope....riiight?)

Looking forward to Moon!

I've been waiting to see the completed Uranus since I read "her" comments when Pluto ran away!! I just want to pick her up and hold her for awhile. I think she would have been my favorite as a child. Now...I just don't know, but I can't wait to see Moon.

I didn't get a chance to respond to your last entry. The Mars drawings are great, as I would expect. I'm getting used to totally awesome creations from you! Thanks for all the pictures and the video from the amazing trip to NY!! I came home and got a cold. (I'm better now.)I'm sure it was because I couldn't sleep out there...way too excited about all there was to do!!!!

I never noticed before, but she has green apples for earings doesn't she? I guess it goes with the book worm theme, but I've just never looked closely at them until now.

I'd like to do tutorial, but I don't have the time!!

Yes, her symbol is apples. It was Craig's suggestion, actually, being that apples are symbolic of teachers and therefore, learning. I never thought of the bookworm thing, but that works, too!!

Ah, but she´s MOST than adorable...!

I quite agree on what your mother just said, too.
I also have a great sympathy for the character, even for the special instance she told above - in fact, I think that Uranus went close, as neither the other girls( who are supposed to "be" or galaxies, even stars or even, big planets! I also think that they wouldn´t feeling "more important" than others( well, Moon is a "just" satellite, so even a planet she isn´t - but, that does REALLY matter )... ?

I think that Pluto is overreacting about this - but things will turn fine, so I guess^^

Once again,
Amazing work, Lauren!
